Who Qualifies for Veterans’ Benefits?
Veterans have done a great service for our country, which is why they deserve to receive health benefits after serving. It’s important to understand eligibility requirements to ensure that you’re not missing out on the benefits you deserve.
The Rules for Veterans’ Benefits
Here are the rules.
You’re considered a veteran and eligible for benefits if:
- you’ve served at least one day during wartime or twenty-four continuous months of active duty
- you can’t perform at least two daily living activities on your own
- you can’t afford home care or assisted-living services based on your assets and income
There are also some factors that can provide you with enhanced eligibility status:
- you are a former Prisoner of War (POW)
- you are found to be Catastrophically Disabled by the VA
- you received the Medal of Honor or the Purple Heart Medal
Securing benefits will yield you thousands of dollars per year, and with the high costs of health care, you deserve the assistance!
