Veteran Benefit Rates in 2015

The month of February, we have been dedicating our blog to Veterans.

There are several government benefits that veterans are eligible to receive, though it can be hard to know where to start. You can check out this month’s previous posts on the minimum qualifications to receive benefits, what different kinds of benefits are available, and current legislature that will impact the application process for returning veterans.

Veteran Enhanced Pension Benefits

The amount of enhanced pension a veteran is qualified for, and receives, is dependent upon their income for VA purposes, as well as dependents that may rely upon them. The follow are current enhanced pension benefits:

If you are a veteran… Your yearly income must be less than…
Without Spouse or Child $12,868
To be deducted, medical expenses must exceed 5% of MAPR,  or,  $ 643
With One Dependent $16,851
To be deducted, medical expenses must exceed 5% of MAPR,  or,  $ 842
Housebound Without Dependents $15,725
Housebound With One Dependent $19,710
A&A Without Dependents $21,466
A&A With One Dependent $25,448
